Delete it yourself
- Sign in and open Account → Security (go there now).
- Scroll to Delete account and tap Delete account.
- Confirm it’s you: enter your password, or a two-step verification code if you have two-step verification turned on.
- That’s it. You are signed out, and we email you a confirmation.

What is deleted
| Data | When |
|---|---|
| Your account: name, username, email, password, settings, two-step verification | Immediately |
| Your “Find photos of me” face template, and every face template and People group in your library | Immediately |
| Your membership of albums other people shared with you | Immediately |
| Share links you created, and the links of your albums | Immediately |
| Your support cases | Immediately |
| Albums you own, with every photo and video in them | Marked for deletion immediately; files are permanently removed from storage by our daily purge, usually within 48 hours |
| Photos and videos you added to other people’s albums | Removed on the same daily purge |
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Download anything you want to keep before you start. Copies that other members already downloaded from a shared album are outside our control. Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period before those are rotated out, and we keep a record of a bounced email address (not your account) so we don’t keep mailing it.
If you only want to delete some things
- Photos, videos or albums: delete them in the app. They stay in Trash for 14 days in case you change your mind, or use Delete forever in Trash to remove them on the next daily purge.
- Your face template: Account → Profile → Face profile → Remove.
- Leave an album someone shared with you: ask the owner to remove you, or email us.
- Stop sharing an album: open the album’s sharing settings and remove people or revoke links.
